DangÄ—s river in KlaipÄ—da is an important, but unexploited city’s attraction element with a rich history and influence on the development of Klaipeda city.

COMMUNITY PARK

Dangės architectural concept is based on the fundamental values of the site: Water, Trees, Space, and Time. The project aims to use the existing values to create a lively, all-year-round, full-fledged space for citizens of all ages and interest groups. New infrastructure of the park is being designed in order to create the preconditions for attracting small businesses, social, creative projects, educating the citizens, promoting community spirit and educating urban self-awareness.

100th ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

In 2018 Lithuania celebrates the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuanian independence. It is intended to commemorate the principles of democracy, freedom and independence in a renewed public space – DangÄ—’s park. The free space to express human personality would be the best “monument” to the essential principles of a democratic state. The park design is focused on marking the most significant events that have had a decisive influence on the development of the city.

THE AXES OF CONCEPT

Axis nr. 1 – the trajectory of an educational trail of the city’s 100 year history.

Axis nr. 2 – a recreational trail along the Dange’s river quay with terraces.
